Family Past Times

The 1st Sunday of the month is free admission day at the Village. Bring the whole family for historic fun and participate in themed activities for everyone to enjoy.

March's theme is
“Throw Away?”

What’s trash and what’s treasure? Explore what was saved, reused, or tossed in the nineteenth century. Try to trade scraps from the farm or Blum House for things you really need at the General Store.

Listen in on our cell phone tours! Discover the story of our buildings and explore connections between the past and present.

Explore the Village with the Green Fields, Black Smoke: Nature and Progress When Dallas was Young Family Guides. What would you throw away and what would you keep in the nineteenth century? Learn about the thriving factory town of Thurber, Texas. Don't miss the Learning Lounge for more hands-on activities.
