Bring Your Troop to Dallas Heritage Village
Visit Dallas Heritage Village with your troop and experience history. We believe in living history, and as a part
of that mission, we offer a variety of hands-on programs for Girl Scouts of all
ages. Choose from our badge workshops, guided tour, or self-guided tour
All workshops are $15. Please allow 2 hours for each workshop. A $90 deposit must be paid at the time of booking in order to reserve your spot.
Daisy Girl Scouts
Mind Your Manners: Respect Myself and Others, Scouts will earn the Petal-Gloria
Enjoy a Victorian tea party in one of our historic homes and learn about proper etiquette
Penny for Your Thoughts: Money Counts, Scouts will earn the Financial Literacy Leaf
Spend some time downtown on our historic main street learning about

Penny-Pinching Pride: Making Choices, Scouts will earn the Financial Literacy Leaf

One Lump or Two: Making Friends, Scouts will earn the Skill Building Badge-Manners
Enjoy a Victorian tea party in one of our historic homes while learning etiquette and manners
to foster lasting friendships.
Nickel & Dimed: Money Manager, Scouts will earn the Financial Literacy I Badge
Let's go shopping at the turn-of-the-century Bankand to the General Store to shop for the latest products of the 1900s.
Junior Girl Scouts
Elegantly Entertaining: Social Butterfly, Scouts will earn the Skill Building Badge-Manners
Experience a Victorian Tea in one of our historic homes where conversation is priority and
appropriate manners are a must.
Two Cents' Worth: Savvy Shopper, Scouts will earn the Financial Literacy II Badge
You need this but you want that: however do you decide? Tour the village as you try and find
out what makes people happy (or not!) with what they buy. Travel back in time as we explore
and compare the needs and wants of girls in the 19th century and girls today.
Living History: Playing in the Past, Scouts will earn the It's Your Story Skill Building Badge - Creative Play
Step back in to history and experience life as a pioneer girl or a young Victorian.
Time Traveler Tours Choose from one of the following themes:
$10 per Girl Scout
Take a tour of several buildings in the Village. A $60 deposit must be paid at the time of booking in order to reserve your spot.
Living on the New Frontier
If you were a pioneer girl in the 1800s, what would your life have been like? Take a guided
tour of the Miller Log House, Millermore and the Farmstead ending with a self-guided craft
from the past.
Corsets, Calling Cards, & Hat Pins
If you had lived at the turn of the century, what would your life have been like? Take a guided
tour of Blum House and Sullivan House and Renner School and finish with a self-guided craft from
Tours can be adapted to any age level. All Girl Scouts will receive the Dallas Heritage Village
Time Traveler Patch.
$7 per Girl Scout
Explore the historic village on your own. All Girl Scouts will receive a Time Traveler Scavenger
Hunt and the Time Traveler Patch.
Do you plan on visiting lots of museums as a troop? Consider the "History Museum Explorers Patch,"
a progressive patch featuring history museums in Dallas. The DHV patch is $3. For more details,
Workshops and tours are only conducted during regular museum hours and must be
booked at least three weeks in advance. Please remember, we are an outdoor
museum! Workshops are held rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the

Workshop size is limited to a minimum of 6 Girl Scouts and a maximum of 20 Girl
Scouts. Troops can be combined to meet the minimum. Tour size is limited to 25
