Picnics & Reunions

Dallas Heritage Village offers so many options for company picnics, family reunions, class reunions and even memorial services. We have a variety of packages which offer a discounted ticket rate and the ability to customize a picnic for groups of up to 500!

When you reserve a picnic space in Nancy’s Garden or have a private picnic rental in the Pavilion, you are offered the ability to fully cater your event by choosing one of our very reputable and affordable caterers. Our list of rental enhancements such as balloons, bank robberies, wagon rides with Nip and Tuck and many more entertainment choices make Dallas Heritage Village the perfect venue for families and companies of all sizes. We have provided our picnic rates in our rentals brochure.

Grounds Rental


Dallas Heritage Village offers a variety of picnic packages and “all museum” rental packages for conventions and corporations. Museum patrons and members are always welcome to enjoy our picnic grounds which have been moved from the museum green space and are now located in Nancy’s Garden. With an exceptional view of the Dallas skyline, guests can self-tour the buildings and then enjoy a quiet picnic lunch in this separate gated space. With over 10 on-site picnic tables, there is still plenty of room to drop a blanket or arrange for a tent in our 18,000 sq. ft of picnic space.


Picnics: Self-Tour


Through our Reservations Office, you are able to book pre-arranged self-guided tours for a discounted ticket price. When you self-tour, you are also welcome to have a small picnic in the picnic area. The picnic tables are available on a firstcome, first-served basis. You can bring your own bag lunch or you can arrange to pick up box lunches. Please contact the Reservations Coordinator for self-tour reservations and box lunch rates. (a minimum of 15 guests required)


Picnics: Guided-Tour Rates & Ticket Blocks


Through our Tour Manager, you are able to book pre-arranged guided tours for a discounted ticket price. When you have a guided tour, you are also welcome to have a small picnic in the picnic area. The picnic tables are available on a first come, first served basis. You can bring your own bag lunch or arrange to pick up box lunches. In the case of inclement weather and if space is available, we can allow for lunch shelter space. Please contact the Director of Sales to arrange for group tours with box lunches. If your group is between 50 and 100, you can also purchase pre-printed blocks of group tickets. These tickets can be used for general admission and are the lowest contracted ticket price we offer to groups.


Picnic Rentals: Reserved Space


For groups of 100 or more, Dallas Heritage Village offers a special rate of $11 per person for a pre-reserved picnic in Nancy’s Garden, the museum’s picnic space. For $11 per person (min 100), you get a reserved space, the ability to rent the grass lot across the street for ball games, the ability to fully caterer your picnic with any of our approved caterers (hamburgers and BBQ to live fajita stations), parking, an event manager and on-site security. These picnics can last up to 4 hours. Catering is extra and we do not allow self-catering at the museum. Please contact theDirector of Sales for more information. Picnics are available all seasons and tent rentals are available for rain back-up.


Picnic Rentals: The Pavillion Package




For groups of 200 or more, Dallas Heritage Village offers a very special picnic package. For a special rate of $13 per person you can have a pre-reserved picnic utilizing the Pavilion and the green space behind it. You get the Pavilion (value $3,100), the ability to rent the grass lot across the street for ball games, the ability to fully caterer your picnic with any of our approved caterers, parking, an event manager and on-site security. In addition, you get 60-inch round tables (up to 20) and additional banquet tables for the green space behind the Pavilion. Picnics can last up to 6 hours. Catering is extra and we do not allow self-catering at the museum. The Pavilion picnic is a private picnic and tents are available to rent for green space coverage. Pavilion picnics are not available on Saturdays due to weddings. This is an exceptional package for corporate picnics, family reunions and class reunions!


Family & Class Reunions


You can take advantage of these picnic packages or our day rental rates for facilities when hosting your family or class reunion. In addition to this great value, you can also choose any of our rental enhancements for your reunion such as balloons, the popcorn wagon, wagon rides with Nip and Tuck and so much more. Memorial Services


Dallas Heritage Village is a beautiful place to host a memorial service. We are able to host the actual service in the Church and/or we are able to host a beautiful memorial banquet. Often, we facilitate the luncheon that takes place after a funeral or memorial service held at a nearby Church or funeral home. The serene setting and the connection to the past make Dallas Heritage Village a unique place to pay tribute to a loved one. Please contact the Director of Sales for more information. We tailor these packages to the needs of the client.
