Time: Allow 1.5 – 2 hours. On most weekdays, we recommend scheduling your Guided Tours at 1:00 p.m. or later. The Village will be much less crowded, as the school tour kids will be on their way out the door.

If you lived during the nineteenth century, what would a typical day be like? Focusing on the historic homes of Dallas Heritage Village, we’ll explore daily life during the 19th century. From the frontier living of the Miller family to the cutting edge technology featured in the Sullivan House, discover the dramatic changes in daily life that occurred in North Texas between 1850 and 1900.

A Woman’s Place
During the nineteenth century, conventional wisdom declared that “A woman’s place is in the home.” But was that always true? And when she was home, what were her responsibilities? We’ll explore key structures at the Village with an eye towards how women lived their lives in these buildings.
Featured Structures: 1860s Farmstead, Pilot Grove Church, Renner School, General Store, Worth Hotel, and Sullivan House.
